Dr. Salman Saad, MD and Dr. Moizah Saad, DO provide comprehensive sexual health testing reviewing results personally, explaining them clearly, and coordinating treatment or specialist referrals when needed.
We accept most major insurance plans and offer a Direct Primary Care (DPC) membership for consistent, private access to sexual health testing without scheduling barriers or unexpected costs.
Why STI Testing Matters
Sexually transmitted infections are far more common than most people assume and far less visible. The CDC estimates that nearly 1 in 5 people in the United States has an STI at any given time. The majority have no idea because they have no symptoms. That is not an unusual situation. It is the norm.
Left untreated, STIs can cause serious long-term complications pelvic inflammatory disease, infertility, liver disease, neurological damage, and significantly increased HIV transmission risk. Many of these consequences are entirely preventable when infections are caught and treated early through routine sexual health testing.
STI Testing for Women and Men
Family medicine adapts as you age. Here’s how care evolves across life stages:STI testing recommendations differ between men and women based on biology, risk profile, and clinical guidelines. Here is what we focus on for each.
STD Testing for Women
Women are biologically more vulnerable to STIs and more likely to be asymptomatic making regular testing essential rather than optional.
- Annual chlamydia and gonorrhea screening for all sexually active women under 25
- Syphilis and HIV testing based on individual risk factors
- Hepatitis B and C screening based on risk history and age
- HPV co-testing with Pap smear for women aged 30 to 65
- STI screening during pregnancy protecting both mother and baby
STD Testing for Men
Men are less routinely screened for STIs which means infections are often caught later. We encourage men to be proactive about their sexual health testing.
- Chlamydia and gonorrhea testing for men with symptoms or elevated risk
- Syphilis and HIV testing recommended at least once for all adults and more frequently for higher-risk individuals
- Hepatitis B and C blood testing
- Herpes assessment based on symptoms and risk factors
- HPV risk counseling and vaccination referral
STIs We Test For
We offer comprehensive sexual health testing for a full range of STIs. Testing is tailored to your individual risk factors, symptoms, and health history not a generic panel applied to everyone.
The two most commonly reported STIs in the United States. Both are bacterial infections that frequently cause no symptoms particularly in women and can lead to pelvic inflammatory disease and infertility if untreated. Both are tested via urine sample or swab and are highly treatable with antibiotics when caught early.
Syphilis rates have been rising in recent years across all demographics. It progresses through stages; early stages are easily treatable, but untreated syphilis can cause serious cardiovascular and neurological damage years later. Syphilis is detected through a simple STI blood test and treated effectively with antibiotics.
HIV testing is recommended at least once for all adults aged 15 to 65, and more frequently for those at higher risk. Early HIV diagnosis allows for antiretroviral treatment that dramatically reduces viral load, protects long-term health, and prevents transmission. We offer confidential HIV testing and connect patients who test positive with appropriate care immediately.
Herpes is one of the most widespread STIs worldwide and one of the most misunderstood. Many people with herpes have no symptoms or mistake outbreaks for other skin conditions. We discuss herpes testing in the context of your specific symptoms and risk factors and provide clear, judgment-free guidance on management and transmission reduction.
Both hepatitis B and C can be sexually transmitted and often present without symptoms for years while silently damaging the liver. Hepatitis C screening is now recommended as a one-time test for all adults born between 1945 and 1965, and for anyone at elevated risk. Both are detected through STI blood tests and, in the case of hepatitis C, are now highly curable with antiviral treatment.
While there is no standalone HPV test for most patients outside of cervical screening, HPV risk is assessed as part of our comprehensive sexual health evaluation. For women, HPV co-testing is performed alongside Pap smears per current clinical guidelines. We provide HPV risk counseling for men and refer for vaccination when appropriate.
We also provide family medicine weight loss support, combining medical guidance, metabolic evaluation, and lifestyle planning.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q1: Is STI testing confidential?
Yes. Your STI test results are completely confidential and handled with the same privacy as any other medical information. Results are discussed only between you and your physician in a private clinical setting. Certain infections including HIV, chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis are reportable to public health authorities as required by law, though this is done without identifying information being shared publicly.
Q2: How is STI testing done?
Depending on the infection, testing may involve a urine sample, a blood draw, a swab of the affected area, or a combination. Most tests are quick and minimally uncomfortable. We explain exactly what each test involves before we begin so there are no surprises.
Q3: How soon after exposure can I be tested?
Testing windows vary by infection. HIV testing is most accurate two to four weeks after exposure using a fourth-generation test. Chlamydia and gonorrhea can typically be detected one to two weeks after exposure. Syphilis and herpes may require four to six weeks for reliable results. We advise on the right timing based on your specific situation.
Q4: How long does it take to get STI results?
Most STI blood test results return within two to five business days depending on the laboratory. Some rapid HIV tests can provide results within the same visit. We contact you directly with your results and review them with you, you will not be left checking a patient portal alone.
Q5: What happens if my STI test comes back positive?
We review your result with you directly and in plain language. For bacterial infections like chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis, treatment is initiated promptly in our clinic. For viral infections such as HIV or hepatitis C, we coordinate immediate referrals to the appropriate specialist and stay engaged in your ongoing care.
